Have a sewing machine and not sure where to start? Bring it to one of these 3 hour classes and get to know your machine. You will learn its basic parts and how to thread the machine, how to adjust tension and why it's so important, and basic cleaning and troubleshooting techniques. You will make a sample stitch cloth out of the various stitches your machine is capable of and what they're used for. You will also get a lesson on the different types of thread available on the market and their uses. You will also go over machine needles too.

This is a class for students who own an embroidery machine and want to learn how to make a simple design such as a single design on a napkin or block. You must have your manual to the machine and know how to operate your machine to take this class.

Color My Quilt Color Theory Class

Go beyond color to blending patterns, textures, and prints. Take advantage of contrasts and zingers to make your quilts sing. Test color theory by selecting actual fabrics in the shop for practice. Bring a pattern you want to make, or a fabric you don't know what to do with, and Diane will help you select the perfect fabrics for your project.

This class will be pieced with a template and applique. NO paper piecing!!! You will also explore basic color theory to select fabrics, and setting and border designs. Diane will show you how to piece together this advanced block and finish it off so you will be able to make as many as you want! Once you have the technique down, the sky is the limit!

Learn to make a baby/lap size Single Irish Chain quilt from beginning to end - color theory, rotary cutting skills, piecing, pressing, borders, quilting, binding. The class is a small semi-private group (max 4 students). A working sewing machine and working knowledge of the machine are the only requirements. Once you've got the basics from this course you can then move on to more complicated patterns and projects. This is a condensed 4 week course for students who need a brush up or who catch on quickly!!!
