Beginner Quilting II with Diane - Sampler Block Quilt - Oct 03, 2020 01:30 am
This class is for the advanced beginner, who has done some straight seam piecing and has knowledge of basic quilting skills and wants to progress to more advanced projects. It covers more detailed piecing, smaller and detailed borders, more color theory, and other piecing designs. **Please note first 2 classes are in the afternoon and the rest of the classes are in the morning!
The class will start with a discussion of how Diane designed the project just for you, color theory and fabric prints and textures. Then we will move on to fabric prep, cutting tips including fussy cutting and making and using templates. We will review making the perfect 1/4 inch seam and pinning to assure that points will meet perfectly.
Techniques included in the four blocks will include making half square triangles, flying geese, quarter square triangles, Drunkard?s Path (curved piecing), Dresden plate and invisible machine applique. Finishing techniques will include sashing, cornerstones, a mitered border and edge finishing. It sounds like a lot to cover in eight weeks but you will learn tips and techniques to make your piecing faster and more accurate. Cost:
